| Toy and Children's products AMTAC are one of Europe's longest established, UKAS accredited facilities, for the testing of Toys and Children's products. Key activities include the testing and certification for safety, CE Marking and compliance with Retailer, UK Statutory and European regulations and standards.
The UK Toys (Safety) Regulations applies to most toys - that is products and materials designed or clearly intended for use in play by children under 14 years of age. The requirements relate to physical and mechanical properties; flammability; hygiene; radioactivity; chemical and electrical properties and include the need for a 'technical file' which confirms that the toy's compliance has been verified by the use of the appropriate test / assessment procedures. In addition to the above, other Directives may apply to specific toy types - such as the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive. An AMTAC Data sheet "Compliance with the Law - Consumer Products" is available on request. A comprehensive list of Directives, UK legislation and harmonised standards are available our website's 'Support - Links: Consumer Products and Materials' page.
